BAM is currently recruiting for a 3D Modeler to join our Digital Project Solutions team. Reporting to the Senior Production Specialist Manager within a matrix structure, the role will be responsible for producing and developing high-quality 3D construction models and engineering outputs that support delivery across multiple project functions.
The position will focus on cut and fill analysis, earthworks modelling, CAD-based engineering production, and detailed construction modelling to support planning, engineering, commercial, and site teams. Working closely with engineers, planners, and project delivery teams, the 3D Modeler will ensure that all models are technically robust, accurate, and fit for purpose, contributing to buildability reviews, construction sequencing, temporary works development, and both tender-stage and live project delivery.
This is a predominantly remote role, with occasional travel to Wellingborough and other sites across England when required.
- Develop high-level and detailed 3D models using Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit.
- Coordinate with planners to align the 3D model with the latest programme updates, identifying clashes, sequencing issues or constructability risks.
- Produce 3D visualisations and simulations to support health & safety reviews, logistics planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Validate construction methodology through 3D (temporary works, access, lifting operations, interfaces, phasing).
- Maintain and update 3D models where required throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy of planned vs actual where required.
- Assist in ensuring that the building information data quality (graphical and non-graphical) and the level of information need are accurate, and the right information is delivered to the client/appointing party.
- Support in generating the digital engineering output in accordance with the projects methods and procedures.
- Capture best practices, workflows, lessons learned and communicate it within the project and wider team.
- Communicate effectively with all the stakeholders including supply chain regarding the requirements of the Digital engineering output.
- Assist operational delivery in aligning with current digital engineering best practice guidance coming from the DPS Centres of Excellence (COEs).
- Deliver to a high standard in accordance with the agreed project scope.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience working on construction projects in digital domain.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination process is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Possess the drive to pursue continued education on digital technologies.
- Needs to be attentive to the details and assure that their digital engineering outputs are checked thoroughly before sharing with others.
- Must hold a satisfactory level of technical competency relating to construction project technology focused specifically on 3D modelling and one or more of the below:
