BAM Infrastructure are recruiting a Design Delivery Coordinator, based in our Kent office (Sundridge) and/or Network Rail's London (currently Blackfriars and Stratford) offices, with some travel to sites across the South and East. The role is open to flexible working including location and hours. Reporting to the Engineering Lead, you'll play a key role working closely with our Rail Design and Engineering Team, currently delivering a range of Access for All schemes (AfAs) for Network Rail.

The work bank includes the railway disciplines of Building & Civils and E&P (Electrification & Plant). The role includes interfacing with the design supply chain, Doc Control Team, NR client teams and stakeholders to ensure compliant delivery of the framework and enhancement projects. The main Engineering & Design Management team is made up of 12+ multi-discipline engineering professionals, mainly Design Managers/Co-ordinators and CEMs, but extends to include design CREs from our supply chain and site-based Construction CREs. The main portfolio includes AFAs but also both renewal and enhancement projects, developed from design, through construction to hand back. We currently have a number of AFAs in development with more in the pipeline.

Making Possible
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations.
  • Support the implementation of the BIM execution Plan (BEP) for each project and the use of appropriate digital tools.
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks.
  • Collate and promote strategic advice and knowledge associated with the designers processes and design management best practice.
  • Manage design programme, monitoring and reporting via programme updates, trackers & progress meetings.
  • Obtaining of relevant documentation and approvals by relevant bodies, designers and Network Rail.
  • Contribute to the handover process following contract award, to input a clear view of the work scope and intentions of the designed solutions.
  • Work with Document Control Teams to ensure effective compliance documentation and handover processes.
  • Collaborate with the design delivery teams to develop and strengthen design consultants relationships, feedback and manage performance.
  • Support emerging techniques and technologies in design management and engineering and consider suitable applications.
  • Support carbon & biodiversity positive solutions to the team and ensure this is considered throughout the development stage.
What do you bring to the role?
  • Degree/HND qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in design and/or engineering management, rail experience desired but not essential.
  • Knowledge of design procedures and standards.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
