Job Description

Building a sustainable tomorrow

At BAM, we are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Scotland team based in either Aberdeenshire or Inverness.

Your work will support our projects to deliver excellent stakeholder management and community relations in line with our BAM policies, processes and strategies.

You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure we are positively delivering for clients and communities.

The role will involve a mixture of working from our office, from home and on project site.

Hybrid flexible working arrangements are encouraged and actively supported.

Please note that you will be required to be on site at least 2 days a week.

  • Ensures compliance with BAM policies, manages risks, and provides accurate performance data and evidence.
  • Develops and manages relationships with project stakeholders, community groups, partners, clients, and supply chain organisations.
  • Coordinates community engagement activities, communications, partnerships, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promotes diversity and inclusion, challenges non-inclusive behaviours, and supports engagement with underrepresented groups.
  • Supports socially responsible procurement and supply chain understanding of stakeholder and sustainability requirements.
  • Contributes to work-winning activities through case studies, tender support, innovation, and demonstrating social sustainability value.
  • Collects, analyses, measures, and reports stakeholder performance and social sustainability impact, driving continuous improvement and service excellence.

  • You will have an understanding of societal, industry and legislative drivers of social value and stakeholder management and be informed by thought leadership, best practice and research
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • A high degree of energy and self-motivation
  • Understanding of stakeholders and community partners related to social sustainability
  • Ideally a degree level qualification or equivalent
  • An awareness of Diversity and Inclusion related to stakeholder management and social value
  • Experience of writing tender responses and supporting tender submissions
  • Excellent organisational / time management skills
  • Enthusiasm and ability to inspire, influence and engage a broad cross section of stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and to be able to deal with conflict
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate BAM Values: sustainable, inclusive, reliable, ownership, collaborative
  • Be highly competent in MS Suite especially Word, Excel and Power Point
  • A willingness to travel regularly throughout the region, and UK&I as required, and ideally a full UK driving licence
