BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Assistant to join our dynamic team, delivering the construction of a new substation in Inverness-shire that will play a vital role in supporting Scotland's transition to net zero.

Your team: This role will be based in our Inverness office with regular visits to site when required (site located near Cannich). BAM operates a flexible working policy.

Making Possible: As a Commercial Assistant, you will support the commercial team in maintaining effective cost control and reporting. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the monthly cost and value reconciliation supplying requested information such as material and plant accruals.
  • Processing subcontractor payments and clearing bought ledger invoices in line with agreed terms.
  • Producing cost-monitoring reports and analysing exception data.
  • Gathering and collating commercial data for internal and external reporting.
  • Participating in meetings and training sessions.
  • Using MS Office and other software for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Supporting wider commercial functions as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and project commercial procedures.

Requirements:

  • English and Mathematics National Qualifications or equivalent.
  • A keen interest in the construction industry and commercial functions.
  • Proficiency in IT, especially MS Office tools.
