BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our collaborative project team on a new energy infrastructure scheme in Finstown, Orkney. Following a strong pipeline of recent project awards and an expanding portfolio, this is an exciting time to come on board and play a key role in delivering major civil engineering works that will help shape Scotland's renewable energy future. Based on-site in Orkney, you'll be at the heart of high-profile, forward-thinking projects, working alongside a supportive and experienced team to deliver infrastructure with lasting impact. Your team: You will be working on a shift rotation. Accommodation will be provided on the island. Free catering during working hours on site. Flight travel will be arranged by the project for getting to and from the island.
Making Possible
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards
- Supervision of assistant engineers
- Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works
- Provide accurate and clear setting out for works
- Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure a full understanding of the information provided
- Arrange a formal check of the setting out
- Complete inspection and test plans
- Keep an accurate daily site diary
- Preparation of 4 weekly programmes
- Provide accurate measurements for materials required
- Maintain material reconciliation figures for reporting
- Ensure that material delivery tickets are passed on for cost coding
- Carry out testing/sampling of materials
- Assist the measurement department
- Maintain survey books
- Take receipt of materials and perform checks
What do you bring to the role?
The following are mandatory requirements:
- Degree, HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent NVQ Level
- CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager
- SSSTS
The following are desirable requirements:
- Successful experience as an assistant engineer level
- Working towards achieving ICE Technician or Incorporated (preferred) level or equivalent
- Earthworks experience
