Building a sustainable tomorrow. We are seeking a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Manager to join the BAM team on the Fanellan HVDC Project. You will be an integral member of the site team throughout the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), initial works, pre-construction phase, and project delivery. Reporting to BAM's Design and Engineering Manager or Construction Manager, you will coordinate with designers and subcontractors to ensure a robust engineering solution that meets the client's requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and coordinate MEP designs with subcontractors.
  • Coordinate designs across disciplines including structural, architectural, and specialist systems.
  • Ensure designs comply with specifications and identify potential scope gaps or risks.
  • Prepare and coordinate engineering documents such as shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • All documentation must be shared in accordance with BIM Level 2 standards as outlined in the project BIM Execution Plan.
  • Obtain internal and external document approvals.
  • Coordinate MEP subcontractors during on-site installation.
  • Ensure materials are fabricated to the agreed standards and quality.
  • Oversee installation activities to ensure compliance with approved plans and BAM safety standards.
  • Ensure testing and commissioning plans are developed and followed.
  • Manage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) at appropriate stages.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date as-built documentation.
  • Produce Technical Queries (TQs) as required.
  • Represent BAM in meetings with BAS, MEP suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Expedite procurement and manufacturing processes, and report on progress.
  • Lead and attend site coordination meetings; plan and schedule installation activities.
  • Record changes and instructions.
  • Support the Commissioning Manager with building services systems.
  • Assist the Quality Team with completion of ITPs.

Your team: BAM operates a flexible working policy. You will be required to work out of our area offices initially, which are located in Inverness and Kilsyth, Scotland, before going on-site for project delivery.

What do you bring to the role?

  • A degree or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Membership of IMechE, IET, or CIBSE or the qualifications to become chartered.
  • 5-10 years of cumulative experience and competency in Building Services.
  • Experience on projects with MEP value exceeding £25M.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, organisational ability, and flexibility.
  • Awareness of BIM Level 2, Common Data Environment (CDE), Government Soft Landings, and BREEAM (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with NEC3 contracts (essential).
