We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team on a large civil engineering project, the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project. EGL2 project is a JV with Hitachi Energy (HEBAM) and is a 5-year project which will see the creation of a 525kV, 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission cable from Peterhead in Scotland to Drax in England. This will be the longest HVDC Cable in the UK and the UK's single largest transmission project ever, providing enough power for 2 million UK homes.
This is a site-based role at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.
As a Temporary Works Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Co-ordination of Temporary Works between our site teams and designers
- Preparation of TW design briefs in conjunction with site teams and issue to the projects Temporary Works Design teams and management of that submission process
- Management of Temporary Works through the full design preparation and checking processes in accordance with appropriate procedures and client requirements
- Manage Temporary Works designs through their full life-cycle, implementation, use and dismantling
- Maintain Temporary Works Register
- Liaise with different design houses simultaneously
- Ensure the implementation of these Temporary Works on site is in accordance with the approved and checked design details
- Ensure Temporary Works Inspections are carried out by TWS
- Issue of TW Permits to Load and Permit to Unload
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the projects Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and management system requirements and expectations
- Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks
- Understand and effectively undertake SHE accountabilities
- Manage and coordinate Temporary Works Supervisors
- Comply with commercial processes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Joint Venture policies and processes
- Provide practical support and mentoring to less experienced members of the temporary works team.
What do you bring to the role?
- Degree qualification in civil engineering equivalent is desirable one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, MEng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship
- We will consider personnel working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE, CIOB, or other appropriate professional body
- Experience of overseeing a broad range of reinforced concrete, formwork and falsework, excavations, cofferdams, steelwork erection Temporary Works schemes, preferably as a TWC or TWS
- Ideally experience in design and/or engineering management
- Working knowledge of Temporary Works management procedures
- Experience in the delivery of major infrastructure projects
- Awareness of commercial processes
- Knowledge or experience of structural steel building buildings would be useful
