BAM Nuttall are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Site Supervisor to strengthen our existing team, delivering large civil engineering projects across Scotland. The projects are predominantly within the energy infrastructure sector, building new substations to support Scotland's transition to Net Zero. We have positions available within our ASTI Framework in locations across the Moray coast and the Inverness area of Scotland.

Your mission

  • Project professional image of self and the company.
  • Set personal example and demonstrate best practice in safety, quality and environment.
  • Supervise section/trades foreman and manage sub-contractors.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with rest of site team including Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Safety Officers and Site Managers to ensure full understanding of information.
  • Manage workforce, plant and materials.
  • Ensure daily diaries and allocation sheets are up to date.
  • Implement and promote safe systems of work over all activities.
  • Ensure all records, e.g. plant, temporary works and permits are up to date and in place.
  • Work with engineers on setting out information and details of technical information, contributing to the preparation of activity plans.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly meetings with site team regarding safety, progress, expenditure, costs and programme.
  • Ensure tool box talks, safety alerts and activity plan briefings are carried out.
  • Ensure all statutory weekly or daily inspections are carried out, e.g. weekly safety and environment tours.
  • Assist development of the workforce and identify training requirements.
  • Ensure high standard of quality on the works to at least meet the specification requirements.
  • Keep up to date with current legislation.
  • Complete effective Performance & Development Reviews.
  • Have an awareness of Commercial impact.
  • Ensure you press pause to avoid errors.
  • Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.

Who are we looking for?

The following are mandatory requirements:

  • Successful experience as a section/trades foreman.
  • Good knowledge and compliance of company policy and procedures, safety legislation and environment issues.
  • Able to read drawings and construct to them, work to a programme and keep written and electronic records.
  • Demonstrate experience in relevant civil engineering activities.
  • Able to develop and promote safe systems of work.
  • Able to supervise direct workforce, and manage sub-contract operations and section/trades foreman.
  • Attendance of SSSTS, Site Briefing Presenters course, Annual Management of Health & Safety Course, and Your Safety Is My Safety.
  • Completion of the Site Supervisor Training Programme.
  • Basic awareness of Microsoft Programmes, ACD, BIM 360 Field and Bam Site and BAM Nuttall software E.G. Connect.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Construction Supervision.

The following are desirable requirements:

  • Have an awareness of Lean.
  • Qualified First Aider.
