Building a sustainable tomorrow. KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Technical Assurance Manager. The Supply Chain QA Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the supply chain has been SQEPd and are aware of their obligations when working on a nuclear licensed site with QC1 works. Liaising with the H&S, Procurement, Security, delivery and quality teams to ensure integrity of supply chain products & services.

This role manages supply chain audits, quality surveillance, ensuring supply chain quality assurance processes to mitigate risks and uphold industry standards and regulatory requirements. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Responsibilities:
  • Supplier audits and validation.
  • Reviewing supplier ITPs to ensure they align with project requirements.
  • Ensure traceability of products golden thread.
  • Assess technical risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with procurement, delivery, quality, safety, and security project teams to understand supply chain requirements.
  • Develop QC1 requirements for the supply chain.
  • Trend data from supply chain audits and ensure learning is used to avoid repeat errors or non‑conformity.
  • Oversee supply chain and conduct site visits to assess capability and align expectations and requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain quality and assurance.
  • Provide support to procurement by evaluating quality aspects of tender returns.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Qualifications:
  • Academic qualifications: Civil Engineering, Quality, Construction related (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
  • Proven experience in technical assurance, quality assurance, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the sector.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Experience conducting audits and managing compliance activities.
  • Ability to lead teams and work collaboratively across functions.
  • Proficiency with technical documentation and assurance tools.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor trained.
  • CSCS Card White / Managers.
  • Desirable: Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent.
  • Experience in sectors like construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or aerospace.
  • Familiarity with risk management and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
