Quality Engineer (Automotive / Manufacturing)

Bam Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Quality Engineer / Inspector on behalf of a well‑established automotive manufacturing business based in Weston-super-Mare.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward‑thinking Quality team, supporting production and ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
What's on Offer:
- Salary £45,000 - £48,000 (depending on experience)
- Permanent, full‑time position
- Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
- Every other Friday off

The Role:
- Support the QHSE Compliance Manager in maintaining IATF16949, ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards.
- Investigate quality concerns and complete customer reports using 8D methodology.
- Provide hands‑on quality support to production teams.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions.
- Maintain quality documentation and inspection records.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across quality processes.
About You:
- Previous experience in a Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Quality role.
- Background within Automotive, Aerospace or another regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans and 8D.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T and inspection techniques (CMM experience desirable).
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
- IATF16949 Lead Auditor training would be advantageous but is not essential.
