BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join its Ground Engineering business unit, responsible for leading the safe and technically excellent delivery of geotechnical works across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and construction projects throughout Scotland, with flexibility to support projects in the North of England and the Midlands as required. Based from the Kilsyth office, this predominantly site-based role requires regular travel and occasional stays away from home. The successful candidate will provide senior technical leadership, oversee project delivery, ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards, and contribute to the successful execution of complex ground engineering solutions.
As Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding the progress of the project and relevant developments
- Supervision & management of the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works to an excellent technical standard
- Supervise & mentor the project team as appropriate to develop others
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Client, the supply chain and third parties
- Maintain high levels of personal safety and environmental standards, implementing safe systems of work on site
- Monitoring of project costs & reporting change both internally and to the Client
- Awareness of project and business goals and able to relay these to the project team to increase workforce engagement with business
