BAM Site Solutions is recruiting a Mobile Fitter based at our depot in Kilsyth.

This operational role involves working within a busy workshop, supporting BAM and client projects both internally and occasionally externally. The successful candidate will work within the operational team to improve safety, systems, and processes, while also providing ongoing training and product knowledge. The role requires commitment, dedication, self-motivation, and the ability to service and repair various plant and equipment, resolving mechanical issues as they arise.

Your mission

  • Carry out workplace risk assessments individually and with the team
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and management
  • Resolve technical problems related to plant and equipment, sharing knowledge and using initiative on-site
  • Record and carry out regular plant inspections
  • Perform scheduled servicing according to manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain internal plant to Site Solutions standards
  • Conduct on and off hire PDI inspections to standards
  • Perform pre- and post-examination inspections
  • Provide clear data and records
  • Lead familiarization sessions or advise others (apprentices/operators) on safe operation and maintenance of plant
  • Seek advice or advise on plant modifications to ensure compliance with Change Control Procedures
  • Identify opportunities for new technology implementation
  • Follow work programs set by management
  • Collaborate with operational teams on workload
  • Train, mentor, and develop colleagues
  • Maintain personal development records and CV
  • Log all work within the company’s electronic system
  • Inspect workshop areas as instructed
  • Keep work areas safe and tidy
  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance
  • Support the implementation of \’Your Safety is My Safety\’
  • Manage working hours per company procedures
  • Maintain company vehicle and contents
  • Respond to mechanical issues on-site outside normal hours when needed
  • Manage spare parts stocks in company vehicle
  • Perform additional tasks as required for role development

Who are we looking for?

  • A clean driving license is preferred
  • Level 2 VQ in Plant Maintenance and Repair
  • Level 3 Diploma in Plant Maintenance (Construction)
  • Level 3 Diploma in controlling lifting operations – supervising lifts
  • Gained TIMMM certification
  • Gained EngTech status
