Overview
In this role you will be responsible for building BAM's information security platform and leading security operations. You will join the SOC team and report to the Security Operations Lead. You will respond to incidents, conduct threat hunting, and drive continuous improvement of defenses. You’ll design repeatable processes, collaborate with tech and business teams, and promote security awareness. This is an opportunity to shape enterprise security at BAM with hands-on impact.
Responsibilities
- Triage, investigate, and remediate information security alerts
- Conduct threat hunting to uncover otherwise unidentified threats
- Create and maintain runbooks for security investigations
- Improve internal scanning, detection, and reporting of security risks
- Collaborate with global technology teams to enhance security posture using vendor-based and in-house solutions
- Provide guidance on security best practices and systems
- Document information security policies and procedures
- Stay current with industry trends to inform security strategy
Key requirements
- Bachelor in cybersecurity, networking, or computer science
- 5+ years information systems security background
- 3+ years in Security Operations or similar role
- Strong understanding of network security (firewalls)
- Hands-on with SIEM and EDR platforms
- Understanding of encryption technologies (SSL, PKI)
- Scripting/automation experience (Python, PowerShell)
- Experience applying AI tools to security operations and understanding AI risks
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- Experience in incident response and post-incident review
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools
- Familiarity with security policies and best practices
- Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative and cross-functional mindset
