The Fixed Income Finance team sits within Global Treasury at Balyasny Asset Management and is responsible for the financing of the Macro, Credit & Commodities businesses. The team is hiring for a Repo Trader in London.
The Repo Trader will:
- Help manage daily firm level financing of the EMEA fixed income portfolio
- Provide support and back-up coverage to the Asia and US teams
- Proactively provide Portfolio Managers with financing market colour and analysis
- Maintain active dialogue with bank traders regarding market dynamics and trends to improve funding rates
- Help develop strategic initiatives to optimize funding and liquidity
- Assist with data analysis including structuring and visualizing data from multiple sources, including both internal and third-party data
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1 or more years of experience in repo trading preferred, although candidates with a background in an associated function would be considered
- Knowledge and understanding of the repo markets and broader money market functioning
- Experience building strong internal and external relationships
- Ability to improve processes and workflows as well as utilize technology to increase efficiency and productivity
- Experience programming in Python and SQL or experience with other programming languages with an ability to learn Python and SQL
