You will work closely with Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders to eliminate manual processes, reduce operational risk, and create scalable, auditable workflows using modern low-code/no-code and scripting tools, principally integrated agentic workflow tools (e n8n), augmented by Python and REST API integrations.
Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain REST API integrations between automation platforms and BAM's internal and third-party systems.
- Integrate with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Outlook, SharePoint, Slack) for notification and approval workflows.
- Governance, Quality & Documentation
- Maintain a centralized automation backlog, prioritised in line with a set of agreed factors.
- Document all workflows with clear process maps, data flow diagrams, and runbooks.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and error-handling within all production automations.
- Ensure all automations comply with BAM's data governance, security, and audit requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with Operations team leads across all desks to identify and scope automation opportunities.
- Present automation roadmaps and ROI metrics to Operations leadership.
- Provide training and support to Operations staff on interacting with automated workflows.
- Act as internal subject matter expert on automation tooling.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical
- Workflow orchestration: Production automations in workflow tools such as n8n (preferred) or similar; branching, retries/backoff, and exception handling.
- APIs (REST/GraphQL): Design/consume APIs.
- Data (SQL): Strong SQL; relational DBs (Postgres/SQL Server). Bonus: Snowflake/lakehouse exposure.
- Embed LLMs/agents for classification/extraction/routing/summarization; comfortable using AI coding assistants.

- 4-7 years of experience.
- Prior experience in financial services operations, ideally at a hedge fund, prime broker, or investment bank.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, settlement, reconciliation, and back-office workflows.
- Product knowledge across the various asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income).
- Soft Skills
- Strong analytical mindset, able to decompose complex manual processes into automatable components.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills; comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with a high degree of ownership and a bias for delivery.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of operational risk awareness.
- Knowledge of OCR and document parsing for automating email/PDF-based processes.
