In the role of an Associate on the Macro & Fixed Income Trading Assistant team, the employee will be responsible for supporting Macro & Fixed Income portfolio managers and traders across a wide range of financial products and associated processes.

  • Trade Capture: The team is responsible for the timely and accurate trade capture for the Macro & Fixed Income business.
  • Positions - PnL - Risk: Understand & monitor for multiple portfolio managers. Address issues real time with portfolio managers and associated support groups. Work alongside the Valuation Team & Data Integrity team to investigate PnL & verify models and securities are setup properly when applicable. Field questions from downstream groups primarily Operations, Back office and PnL Valuation Control.
  • Technology Enhancements: Proactively work with technology, back office, and external vendors to improve the trade capture process and automate where possible to minimize manual efforts and ensure scalability and stability via straight thru processing.
  • Relationships & Communication: The Trading Assistant Team is a central hub of communication. It is vital to build and maintain relationships with Portfolio Managers, Execution Desks and Executing Brokers.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance or another relevant technical field
  • Up to 5 years of relevant work experience in an investment bank, hedge fund
  • Solid communication, organization, multitasking, and project management skills
  • Experience with Macro & Credit products preferred
  • Practical knowledge of global financial markets
  • Python or other programming knowledge a plus
  • Basic understanding of the term structure of interest rates, curve construction & building a plus
