Team Manager – Family Safeguarding Team
Initial 3-month interim contract
Inside IR35 – £42-44 per hour (via umbrella)
South West of England, Local Authority
Hybrid working; 1-2 days a week on-site
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager to support the Family Safeguarding Team for an initial 3 months in a fantastic Local Authority in the South West of England. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will join a fantastic team, responsible for managing the delivery of high-quality and effective social care services.
CV submission is ASAP, with a view to interview W/C Monday 3rd November 2025.
Your responsibilities as the Team Manager for Safeguarding:
- Assess and balance risk and protective factors within a safeguarding framework.
- Ensure every team member has performance and development objectives set and these are reviewed and monitored regularly.
- Take a professional lead on safeguarding and provide expert knowledge of safeguarding processes, policy and case law.
- Provide leadership and apply more specialist social work practice skills and knowledge to make independent decisions, seeking advice as needed and ensuring subsequent actions are completed.
- Manage the team budget and ensure that systems for delegated financial.
- Take the lead in initiating, developing and sustaining internal and external working relationships with other professionals, partner organisations and external agencies.
Your required experience as the Team Manager for Safeguarding:
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Must have recent experience at Team Manager level, with the skills to hit the ground running.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of systems and processes to manage case work and budgets in order to provide focused social work activity.
- Flexibility; must be able to work on site when required, typically 1-2 days per week as agreed with your Manager.
- Experience of leading and managing teams to achieve high performance.
- Available references for most recent 2 year\’s roles.
- Must hold a current DBS or be willing to undertake one.
