6‑month contract | Immediate start available £450 per day Inside IR35 (via umbrella) Hybrid working (3 days on site)
Stepping into the role, you will take the lead of a high‑impact IRO service, reporting into senior leadership and influencing outcomes for children at a critical time. You will oversee a team of Independent Reviewing Officers, driving standards, embedding restorative practice, and ensuring every child’s voice is central to decision‑making. You will be trusted to set the tone for excellence, ensuring statutory responsibilities are not only met but delivered to the highest standard.
- Lead and inspire a team of IROs, ensuring strong oversight of care planning and reviews
- Champion restorative practice with a clear focus on children’s voice and participation
- Deliver the statutory IRO function, providing robust challenge and support to teams
- Drive quality assurance, performance and standards across Children in Care services
- Build positive relationships with families, supporting safe and meaningful connections
Your experience:
- Proven Service Manager-level leadership within Children’s Services
- Strong background as an IRO or managing IRO teams
- Demonstrable experience of quality assurance and performance management
- Qualified Social Worker with extensive Local Authority experience
- Ability to influence through challenge, collaboration and relationship-building
