This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role where your influence will be felt across services, communities and partnerships. As Director, Adult Social Care, you will report directly into the Corporate Director and provide strategic leadership across a complex, high-profile portfolio supporting some of the most vulnerable adults.
You will lead large multidisciplinary teams, oversee significant budgets and drive strengths-based practice at scale, ensuring statutory duties are met while accelerating improvement, inclusion and outcomes. This role is about visible leadership, pace and purpose. You will shape culture, set direction and ensure services are person-centred, preventative and enabling, with a relentless focus on tackling inequality, embedding anti-racist practice and delivering joined-up support across organisational boundaries.

Your role as Director, Adult Social Care:- Strategic leadership of strengths-based practice, personalisation and prevention across all adult services
- Driving integration and partnership working with health, voluntary sector and wider system partners
- Ownership of performance, quality and safeguarding, ensuring statutory compliance and continuous improvement
- Visible leadership on equality, inclusion and anti-racist practice, shaping culture and behaviours
- Accountability for budgets, resources and value for money, delivering sustainable services at scale
- Senior leadership experience within adult social care at a strategic and operational level
- Strong track record of service transformation, improvement and performance delivery
- Deep understanding of the Care Act, safeguarding and strengths-based approaches
- Proven ability to lead complex partnerships, commissioning and integrated delivery
- Credibility with elected members, senior stakeholders and system leaders
