This is a rare opportunity to step into a high‑profile, strategic property role where your decisions genuinely shape places, communities and long‑term value. Reporting directly into the Commercial Lead, you will take responsibility for a complex, high‑value portfolio worth circa £2.77bn, influencing how assets are managed, regenerated and brought forward to support wider economic and social outcomes. You will be trusted to operate at pace, advise senior stakeholders and elected members, and act as the professional voice on commercial property matters across a diverse range of assets. If you thrive on autonomy, challenge and impact, this is a role that will stretch and reward you in equal measure.

Your role as Senior Commercial Surveyor:

  • Strategic asset management across a varied commercial portfolio, maximising value, reducing costs and driving long‑term returns
  • Delivering commercial transactions including leases, acquisitions, disposals and development‑enabling work
  • Acting as an intelligent client, leading and managing agents, surveyors, planners and legal advisers
  • Regeneration and placemaking, unlocking development potential and aligning property decisions with wider policy objectives
  • Financial accountability, including budgeting, forecasting and robust business case development through to senior approval

Your experience as a Senior Commercial Surveyor:

  • A strong background in commercial property or asset management, gained in either the public or private sector
  • Proven delivery of asset management initiatives such as lettings, rent reviews, re‑gears, refurbishments and hold/sell analysis
  • Confidence managing legal negotiations, contracts and commercial leases, producing high‑quality reports to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrable ability to influence senior stakeholders, communicate clearly and provide trusted professional advice
  • A property‑related degree and/or RICS membership (or working towards), with a sound understanding of public‑sector context and governance
