The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership, management, and performance of the children’s home—ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements and offers outstanding care. You will:
- Provide strong, visible leadership to your team, modelling best practice.
- Ensure the home complies with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations.
- Create a safe, stable environment where children feel valued and understood.
- Develop and oversee robust care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Lead and inspire a motivated staff team through supervision, coaching, and professional development.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice.
- Build positive relationships with external professionals, families, and local authorities.
- Oversee budgets, staffing, reporting, and home development plans.
- Ensure safeguarding is embedded in the home’s culture and practice.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within a Children’s Residential setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma‑informed care.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop a staff team.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision‑making skills.
- A commitment to achieving high standards and positive outcomes for young people.
Desirable:
- Experience leading a home through Ofsted inspections.
- Understanding of therapeutic or attachment‑based models.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
