Interviews are ongoing. You will be responsible for driving forward the Repairs Improvement Programme, an essential part of the Council’s wider Housing Improvement Plan. This role focuses on organisational redesign and implementing a new operating model to improve service efficiency, resident satisfaction, and operational standards. You will lead high-impact change initiatives, working closely with senior managers, trade teams, and support functions to embed new ways of working across the repairs service.
About the Programme Manager – Repairs role:
- Lead the delivery of organisational change projects aligned to the new repairs operating model for their DLO.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable project plans, milestones, and measurable benefits.
- Collaborate with internal teams to redesign processes, roles, and structures that enhance productivity and resident experience.
- Oversee programme documentation including risk registers, benefits tracking, and governance reporting.
- Ensure enabling functions (ICT, procurement, finance, performance) are aligned to support the new model.
Your previous experience as a Programme Manager – Repairs:
- Proven experience delivering large-scale organisational redesign or service transformation, ideally within housing or public sector environments.
- Strong programme and project management skills, with a track record of implementing operating model changes.
- In-depth understanding of housing repairs services and sector-specific challenges; direct experience in repairs improvement is highly desirable.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement across diverse groups including frontline teams, contractors, and residents.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling reports and presentations for senior audiences.
