Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer ready to step into a leadership position of a diverse and experienced team? You will be joining a programme transitioning from legacy systems to a modernised estate across a portfolio of complex buildings. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll take ownership of complex issues, producing analytical reports for senior leadership and using analysis of data to provide narrative and solutions to projects in their commercial portfolio.

Your role as Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Produce and deliver briefing documents on historic spends, maintenance repairs, analysis and reasoning and presentation in briefing format to SLT within the council
  • Oversight of a team of experienced and professional Mechanical Engineer colleagues
  • Take the lead on escalated complex mechanical systems including heat pumps, ventilation and modern plant
  • Deliver root cause analysis and fault finding across a challenging and varied estate
  • Drive system performance and reliability through maintenance and small works programmes
  • Act as the mechanical subject matter expert, influencing technical standards and outcomes
  • Ensure systems are operating efficiently and as designed, resolving underperformance issues

Your previous experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Leadership of a portfolio of experienced professional Engineers & delivery or written product (reports etc)
  • Proven background in complex building services environments
  • Strong experience with fault finding and diagnostics across mechanical plant
  • Deep understanding of modern mechanical systems such as heat pumps and ventilation
  • Ability to lead on technical performance improvement across estates
  • Confident acting as a mechanical SME in a delivery-focused environment
