Are you an experienced SEND Officer who thrives on producing high-quality, legally compliant EHC plans and wants to hit the ground running with a new SEND Service? We are looking for two SEND Officers to manage a caseload of Annual Reviews to support a backlog in a busy Local Authority.
Your role as SEND Officer:
- Amending and issuing EHC plans following annual reviews, ensuring they are legally compliant, concise and up to date.
- Reviewing professional reports and advice, identifying gaps and incorporating updates into high-quality amendments.
- Managing a defined caseload of annual reviews, working to an 8-week turnaround from review to final plan.
- Confidently communicating with families, schools and professionals to discuss amendments and agree changes.
- Preparing documentation for panel, finalising drafts and delivering around 10 quality amendments per week.
Your previous experience as a SEND Officer:
- Strong, hands-on experience amending and issuing EHC plans within statutory timescales.
- In-depth understanding of SEND legislation and what good-quality, defensible plans look like.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload without compromising on detail or quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with families and professionals.
- Local Authority experience within SEND or EHCP services.
Although the role is remote, you will be expected to collect your equipment at the start of the contract. A short written task will be sent ahead of interview, followed by a 30-minute discussion focused on your knowledge and experience of EHC plans.
