Head of Damp, Mould and Disrepair Interim contract | Immediate start £630 per day Inside IR35 (via umbrella) Hybrid working. CVs are being reviewed immediately and interviews will be taking place week commencing 18 May 2026. This rare and urgent opportunity is for an experienced leader to step into a highly visible interim role where performance, compliance and pace really matter.

As Head of Damp, Mould and Disrepair, you will report directly into the Assistant Director and take full ownership of a critical service area, leading 10 staff and overseeing delivery across directly employed teams and multiple contractors. This role carries real influence. You will be accountable for driving standards, improving outcomes and ensuring the organisation meets its statutory responsibilities under Awaab’s Law and wider disrepair legislation.

Your role:

  • Lead and inspire a specialist team, setting clear direction and accountability
  • Own service delivery across damp, mould and disrepair, managing in-house teams and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with Awaab’s Law, housing legislation and statutory requirements
  • Drive robust governance, accurate record keeping and audit-ready processes
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to manage risk, performance and improvement plans

Your previous experience:

  • Senior leadership experience within housing, property or asset management services
  • In-depth knowledge of Awaab’s Law, housing regulation and disrepair claims
  • Strong contractor management experience with a focus on quality and performance
  • Proven ability to stabilise and improve pressured services at pace
  • Confident operating at senior level, reporting into Assistant Director and Director roles

Interviews will be led by the Assistant Director and the Director of Property Services and will focus heavily on your practical experience, legislative knowledge and ability to meet the demands of the role from day one.
