6‑month contract initially (likely longer) £400‑450 per day Inside IR35 (via umbrella) Fully remote 3 / 4 days per week. CVs are being reviewed immediately and interviews will be taking place week commencing 13th July.

Reporting into a senior Associate Director, you will take ownership and support key programmes including a c.£51m Better Care Fund, influencing system‑wide change and driving integrated services that truly improve outcomes. This is your chance to lead in a complex, high‑profile environment where your decisions will directly impact communities and service delivery.

Your role:

  • Lead commissioning & transformation of adult community services across a complex system
  • Drive Better Care Fund delivery and wider integrated care programmes
  • Manage contracts, quality & performance, ensuring service improvement plans are delivered
  • Influence senior stakeholders across health, social care and third sector partnerships
  • Oversee budget planning & financial performance for large‑scale programmes

Your experience:

  • Strong track record in commissioning within healthcare or local government settings
  • Experience in better care fund (BCF) – desirable
  • Proven ability to work in politically sensitive environments and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent project & programme delivery skills (PRINCE2 or similar)
  • Experience managing budgets, business cases & performance reporting
  • Confident communicator able to present complex information to senior audiences
