Reporting into the Head of Property Services, you will be responsible for housing development and acquisitions programme. You will be responsible for managing a small team across feasibility, procurement, and contract delivery across a range of sites and off-the-shelf acquisitions.
Your role as Housing Development and Acquisitions Manager:
- Leading the delivery of a £10m annual housing development programme.
- Managing feasibility studies, planning applications, and site viability assessments.
- Overseeing acquisitions of existing properties to meet urgent housing needs.
- Working closely with planning, finance, and legal teams to ensure viable, sustainable developments.
- Managing a small team and reporting to the Head of Housing Maintenance and Development.
- Ensuring effective contract management, procurement, and compliance with funding requirements.
- Supporting funding applications and identifying opportunities for external investment.
Your previous experience as Interim Housing Development and Acquisitions Manager:
- A strong background in social or affordable housing development—ideally with experience in a housing association or local authority.
- Proven track record of delivering multi-site housing projects and managing complex development pipelines.
- Experience in site viability assessments, planning processes, and high-demolition-cost brownfield sites.
- Knowledge of funding streams and the ability to support successful bids.
- Strong leadership, contract management, and financial planning skills.
