This is an exciting opportunity to join this council’s Public Health Directorate in a time of exciting change. You will play a pivotal role in driving improved health and well-being outcomes for local residents, with a focus on Health Protection and collaborative working with the NHS. Working across organisations and systems, you will influence strategy, shape services, and advocate for changes that improve both population and planetary health, in line with statutory duties.
About your role as Public Health Consultant:
- Lead the delivery of strategic objectives for the Council and Health & Wellbeing Board
- Drive improvements in health and wellbeing outcomes for its residents
- Act as a change agent, delivering outcome indicators from public health, NHS, and social care frameworks
- Work collaboratively across health, social care, and community sectors to influence budgets and priorities
- Champion evidence-based practice and innovation in public health delivery
About you as Public Health Consultant:
- Masters in Public Health (or equivalent)
- GMC/GDC/UKPHR registered (Full & Specialist Register) with licence to practice
- If UK-trained: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
- If non-UK trained: Evidence of equivalence to UK CCT
- Up to date with CPD in line with Faculty of Public Health or other recognised body requirements
- Proven leadership in public health at strategic and operational levels
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders and work across organisations to deliver change
