Interim Regeneration Manager – Midlands
£475 – £575 per day (Inside IR35)
Interim | Hybrid (2–3 days on site)
Initial 3–6-month contract with strong potential to extend.
Following continued investment in regeneration and place‑based growth, our client is seeking an experienced Interim Regeneration Manager to lead the delivery of transformational regeneration programmes and strategic projects across the city.
Your role as Interim Regeneration Manager:
- You will provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of complex regeneration programmes aligned to corporate priorities and regional growth ambitions.
- You will lead the development and delivery of regeneration strategies, frameworks and major projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
- You will act as the Council’s lead officer for regeneration partnerships, working closely with Combined Authorities, Homes England, government departments, developers and community stakeholders.
- You will identify and secure external funding opportunities, preparing robust business cases and ensuring ongoing compliance with funding conditions.
- You will provide strong governance, performance management and risk oversight, reporting clearly to senior officers, Members, and external boards.
- You will lead, develop and motivate a multi‑disciplinary regeneration team, fostering a high‑performance culture and supporting continuous improvement.
- You will champion inclusive growth, sustainability, and innovation, ensuring regeneration activity delivers meaningful outcomes for communities and businesses.
Your required experience as Interim Regeneration Manager:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Regeneration, Planning, Economic Development or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading major regeneration programmes or place‑based projects within a local authority or similarly complex organisation.
- Strong track record of programme delivery, budget management and financial governance.
- Experience securing and managing public sector funding streams and working with external delivery partners.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with elected Members.
- In‑depth understanding of regeneration policy, place‑making and economic growth.
- A collaborative, strategic and outcomes‑focused approach.
