Our Client is looking for an Interim Occupational Therapy Lead to lead innovation, improvement, and strategic development within their Occupational Therapy service. In this role, you won’t just be overseeing day‑to‑day operations; you’ll be shaping the future of the OT service to ensure it remains responsive, effective, and aligned with the evolving needs of the local community. You’ll play a central role in modernising practice, embedding continuous improvement, and delivering high‑quality outcomes for residents.
About the Interim Occupational Therapy Lead role
As the Interim Occupational Therapy Lead, your focus will be on leading service transformation, strengthening operational delivery, and guiding a dedicated team through meaningful change. You’ll champion best practice, drive performance, and ensure the service meets legislative, clinical, and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Leadership: Lead and manage qualified occupational therapists and support staff, setting expectations that promote excellence and continuous professional development.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure the delivery of robust OT assessments and interventions, compliant with legislation and clinical best practice.
- Service Improvement: Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and service user outcomes.
- Integrated Working: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community organisations to deliver joined‑up support for adults with complex needs.
Your previous experience as an Interim Occupational Therapy Lead
To hit the ground running, you must have:
- Professional Qualifications: A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy is essential.
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience as a Service Manager, Team Manager, or similar leadership role within adult social care or OT services.
- Change Management Expertise: A strong track record of leading transformation, improving service delivery, and guiding teams through organisational change.
- Operational Knowledge: Confidence overseeing assessments, interventions, and clinical standards within an adult OT setting.
- Communication Skills: The ability to collaborate, influence, and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic Mindset: A proactive, analytical, and solutions‑focused approach to decision‑making and service development.
