Are you ready to step into a high‑impact transformation where your leadership will directly shape outcomes for children, young people and families? This is a rare opportunity for a Children’s Senior Project Manager to join a fast‑paced, embedded transformation team driving critical programmes across Children’s Services. Reporting into senior transformation leadership, you will be trusted to lead complex implementation activity, influence at the highest levels and turn strategy into delivery at pace. As the Children’s Senior Project Manager, you will be central to the rollout of a new Operating Model, working shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Service leaders, HR and Transformation colleagues from launch through to successful implementation. This is a hands‑on role where visibility, credibility and momentum matter. If you thrive in challenging environments and enjoy making change stick, this contract will play to your strengths.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with senior leadership across the directorate, you will add PMO capacity to drive their change and transformation agenda.
  • Linking with HR services, unions and wider stakeholders to support the redesign of the operating model in line with social care reforms.
  • Lead end‑to‑end implementation of transformation programmes across Children’s Social Care, Family Help, Education and SEND.
  • Embed a new Operating Model, translating design into practical, sustainable delivery.
  • Partner with senior leaders including Directors and Heads of Service to drive ownership and pace.
  • Provide robust programme and project management, ensuring grip, governance and benefits realisation.

Qualifications

  • Proven delivery of transformation within Children’s Services Social Care with tangible impact.
  • Confidence operating at all levels, from frontline practitioners to Director level.
  • Strong autonomous working style balanced with a collaborative, team‑first approach.
  • Resilient, can‑do mindset with the ability to navigate challenge and ambiguity.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification demonstrating professional credibility.
