Assistant SEND Officer
3–6 month interim contract

Baltimore Consulting are currently partnered with a North London Local Authority to appoint an Assistant SEND Officer on an interim basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong SEND knowledge, administrative capability, and experience working in a fast-paced local authority setting.
You will support the SEND service by managing inboxes, liaising with families and professionals, and working closely with the SEND Officers to ensure smooth delivery of statutory services.
Your Role as Assistant SEND Officer:
  • Manage and respond to emails in shared SEND inboxes
  • Provide administrative support to SEND Officers and senior staff
  • Liaise with parents, schools, and professionals to support EHCP processes
  • Update case files and records accurately using Capita
  • Support timely responses to casework and statutory deadlines

Your Experience as an Assistant SEND Officer:
  • Experience using Capita (essential)
  • Strong understanding of SEND processes and terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable managing a busy inbox and handling sensitive information
  • Local authority experience preferred, ideally in a SEND or education team
