Service Manager – Children’s Residential 6-12 month contract North West Council £450 - £500 per day (DoE) Inside IR35 (via umbrella) Hybrid working (up to 3 days per week onsite)
We’re partnering with a forward-thinking Local Authority in the North West to recruit an experienced Service Manager for Children’s Residential Services. This is a pivotal leadership role with strategic and operational responsibility for two children’s homes, an edge of care service, and a diverse supported accommodation offer—including the House Project, Supported Lodgings, and Staying Put arrangements. Acting as the Responsible Individual and registering with Ofsted, you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, nurturing environments and driving continuous improvement across all services as part of a major transformation programme.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Responsible Individual for the Council’s children’s homes, registering with Ofsted.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for:
- Two children’s homes
- A reputable Edge of Care service
- A Post-18 Supported accommodation offer (House Project, Supported Lodgings, Staying Put)
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced leader with:
- Proven experience in residential care and supported accommodation.
- Previously registered with Ofsted as a Responsible Individual.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and Ofsted requirements.
- Ability to lead teams through change and deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management in Social Care.
