As the Strategic Lead – School Organisation & Capital, you will drive multimillion-pound capital programmes, shape future SEND and mainstream school place planning, and influence major development schemes tied to the Local Plan. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, planners, developers, Trusts and schools, and you’ll be the strategic voice at Board and Member briefings.
Your Role as Strategic Lead – School Organisation & Capital:
- Lead major capital programmes, including SEND expansions, new schools and resource bases.
- Shape School Place Planning Strategy 2027–2030 and drive key consultations.
- Negotiate s106 agreements with developers across multiple large-scale schemes.
- Oversee delivery of critical education capital projects and school-based nursery schemes.
- Plan SEND places and future provision, ensuring timely, strategic solutions.
Your Experience as Strategic Lead – School Organisation & Capital:
- Proven senior-level leadership in school organisation, capital planning or place planning.
- Strong experience with Local Authority capital programmes, governance and approvals.
- Ability to negotiate s106 and influence complex multi-agency programmes.
- Strategic expertise in SEND planning, admissions changes and policy implementation.
- Confident communicator with experience briefing Boards, Members and senior officers.
