My Client in Yorkshire are looking to appoint a SEND Sufficiency Programme Manager on a 3-6-month Interim basis to lead on SEND Sufficiency Strategy and Implementation. Reporting into the Head of Commissioning, you will desirably have solid knowledge around commissioning arrangements for providers across SEND and Capital works.

Essential Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislation relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities 0-25.
  • Programme Management experience, experience of developing and implementing Quality audit frameworks, monitoring, and reviewing practice.
  • Ability to work with the provider market, to develop and commission alternative provision for education or in partnership with social care and health.

Job Role

  • You will provide programme management and ensure that the quality of SEND education provision and other various projects is in line with commissioning practice and that the effective monitoring of quality is embedded across services.
  • Lead strategic planning for special school placements and ensure high-quality support for children with SEND.
  • Contribute to review of Sufficiency Strategy.
  • You will be responsible for managing and leading appropriate processes and policies, underpinned by best practice and child centred approaches.
  • Preparing detailed written responses, case statements, and legal submissions in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Representing the local authority to work with providers and relevant commissioners.
