Overview
3-month interim contract - view to extend beyond. Outskirts of London Based Local Authority. £400 - £420 per day Inside IR35 (via umbrella). Ideally Hybrid - can be flexible.
Baltimore Consulting are exclusively partnered with a Local Authority in London region who are seeking an experienced SEND Tribunal Officer to join their SEND service on an interim basis. Due to an increase in tribunal cases, they need someone who can hit the ground running and manage tribunal casework confidently from day one.
Your Role as SEND Tribunal Officer
- Manage SEND tribunal appeals, including evidence gathering and legal documentation.
- Provide expert advice to colleagues on tribunal processes.
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory timelines.
- Liaise with stakeholders to manage cases with empathy and professionalism.
- Understand mediation processes and communicate effectively with families.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate responses to tribunal appeals, prepare documentation, and represent the authority at hearings.
- Work with families, legal representatives, schools, and internal teams to ensure sensitive and professional handling of complex cases.
- Facilitate mediation to avoid formal proceedings where possible.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and tribunal procedures.
- Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and advocacy.
- Represented Local Authorities at hearings.
