My Client in London based Local Authority who are looking to appoint a Lead Place Planning Consultant on an 18-month Interim basis to lead and oversee the councils Place Planning due to the closure of some schools in the borough.
As Lead Pupil Place Planning Consultant, you will be responsible for evaluating pupil place demand and ensuring that local education provision aligns with changing community needs. A key part of your role will be overseeing the strategic process of school closures, ensuring compliance with all legal, financial, and social considerations. You will engage with stakeholders—parents, schools, and local communities—to support smooth transitions and mitigate impacts while maintaining the highest standards of educational provision.
Essential Skills & Abilities- Proven experience in education planning, school place management, or a related field within a Local Authority or similar setting.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience handling complex policy and legislative frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage communities sensitively.
- Experience leading change management processes within education planning.
- Knowledge of statutory processes relating to school closures and educational provision planning.
