As an Interim Senior Procurement Officer – Highways and Transport, you will play a pivotal role in delivering critical transport procurement projects, helping to secure essential services that support local communities. Your Role as Interim Senior Procurement Officer – Highways and Transport: • Lead end-to-end procurement activity across school transport and public transport contracts • Manage complex tender processes, supplier engagement, evaluation and contract award activities • Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023, public procurement regulations and governance requirements • Provide expert procurement advice, risk management support and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders • Support the development of frameworks, dynamic purchasing systems and robust contract management arrangements Your Previous Experience as Interim Senior Procurement Officer – Highways and Transport: • Proven public sector procurement experience within a local authority environment • Strong working knowledge of public procurement legislation and NEC contract forms • Previous experience delivering transport related procurements, including school and public transport contracts • Ability to manage multiple priority projects whilst meeting demanding deadlines • MCIPS qualification or equivalent procurement expertise would be highly advantageous This assignment offers the chance to make an immediate impact on strategically important projects while working in a flexible hybrid environment.
