Are you a visionary leader with a passion for delivering outstanding customer-focused public services? Baltimore is working with a London Council who are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Resident Services to lead a diverse portfolio of vital services for our community.
About the Director Resident Services role: As Director of Resident Services, you'll shape and drive the Borough's customer access strategy—ensuring residents receive consistent, high-performing, and accessible services. You'll oversee a wide-ranging directorate, from libraries and community hubs to bereavement services and council tax support, touching the lives of every household and business within the Borough. With responsibility for a budget of £10M and oversight of revenue and benefit transactions exceeding £800M annually, this is a senior leadership role where your impact will be significant and visible.
Services you will be responsible for:
- Customer Services & Assessments
- Community Hubs
- Libraries, Culture & Heritage
- Revenues, Benefits, and Financial Assessments
- Registration & Nationality Services
- Mortuary & Bereavement Services
You will have direct management for several Heads of Service and inspire a wider team of around 300 staff.
Your previous experience as a Director of Resident Services:
- Proven success in delivering high-quality, customer-centric services in complex, political environments
- Experience managing large-scale service portfolios and significant budgets
- Excellent strategic, financial, and operational leadership
- A collaborative and innovative mindset, able to build partnerships and influence at all levels
