An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor to deliver technical inspections and compliance across a large housing portfolio, ensuring safety and quality standards for residents.
Your Role as a Building Surveyor:
- Conduct 3–4 property inspections daily, including urgent/emergency visits.
- Prepare and issue detailed reports to contractors; follow up on ongoing works and complete sign-offs.
- Liaise with contractors, residents, and internal departments to coordinate works and resolve issues.
- Review structural reports, quotations, and produce technical specifications for repairs and compliance.
- Perform damp and mould inspections, using moisture meters and ensuring adherence to regulatory timescales.
- Provide technical guidance to the housing team and support partners on day-to-day issues.
- Handle disrepair cases, including report writing and knowledge of Scott schedules.
- Maintain awareness of current legislation, asbestos safety, and upcoming regulatory changes.
- Use internal reporting trackers and ensure professional conduct at all times.
Your previous experience as a Building Surveyor:
- Proven experience as a Building Surveyor within housing or similar sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of repairs, damp and mould, and disrepair case handling.
- Skilled in producing detailed reports and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications Required:
- Relevant technical qualification in building surveying or property compliance.
- Knowledge of housing regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with asbestos awareness and damp/mould assessment tools.
