6-month contract | Immediate start £700-£750 per day Outside IR35 Hybrid working

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact Interim Finance Manager - Schools role at a critical point of change. You will join a well-established, high-performing team who understand the issues but need your specialist expertise and capacity to drive progress at pace. Reporting into senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping how funding reforms are modelled, monitored and managed, with visibility and influence from day one.

As Interim Finance Manager - Schools, you will take ownership of complex and sensitive funding challenges, providing clarity, control and confidence during a period of reform. This is a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, stakeholder engagement and leaving a tangible legacy within a short timeframe.

Your role as Interim Finance Manager - Schools:

  • Supporting detailed financial modelling and ensuring systems can track and deliver new funding through SEND Reform Modelling
  • Strengthening monitoring and accountability of High Needs Spending across Alternative Provision, EOTAS and Elective Home Education
  • Improving reporting and controls to ensure spend is transparent and robust
  • Developing clear, practical policies to reduce and manage budgetary deficits across education settings

You will work independently, complementing the permanent team and enabling them to progress priorities that currently sit outside their capacity.

Your previous experience as Interim Finance Manager - Schools:

  • Strong local authority schools funding experience
  • In-depth knowledge of High Needs and SEND funding
  • Proven track record of resolving financial risk and deficit issues
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders on complex financial challenges
