Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for numerous Permanent Production Operatives, for a client located in Newton Aycliffe. Reporting into the Section Leader. Training can take upwards of 2 years to learn one production line so candidates must be willing to work for our client on a long-term basis – it can take 10 years to learn a variety of lines.
Production Operative Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To manufacture weather seals in a safe manner. (Extrusions Department)
- Fully embrace our Core Values.
- To work in the section in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Targets (OEE, Scrap, OTIF ,Quality Standards , Throughput and Productivity).
- Work as part of the team on agreed objectives with Section Leader and Production Manager.
- Actively promote ‘Best and safe Practice’ in all areas.
- Actively promote the Quanex ‘CREED’
- Support Section Leader in achieving through objectives.
- Ensure informative handover is effectively communicated to succeeding operator, any points of note written, signed and dated; in handover book.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by Section Leader.
Production Operative Applicants:
- Exposure to manufacturing environment
- SAP experience
- Good with modern technology (computers)
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- Creative problem-solving techniques
- Setting experience
- Experience with plastics or extrusions

Hourly rate: £12.36 per hour basic, plus 20% shift allowance.
Annual salary including 20% shift allowance: £30,850
Working a 3-shift pattern of 10pm to 6am, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm. First couple of weeks will be spent completing the relevant training/induction, during this period candidates will be working a day shift of 8am to 4pm.
