Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our market leading manufacturing client with their search for a Production Engineer.
Job Purpose: A key role within the business managing the whole production process, making sure everything runs smoothly and effectively. Making key improvements to manufacturing processes throughout the business.
Full responsibility for a number of manufacturing processes within the business including:
- CNC Routing
- Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Welding
- Powder Coating
- Electrical Assembly
Key Duties:
- Ownership/Continuous improvement of existing machines/processes.
- Selection of new assembly processes/techniques.
- Specification/Development of new equipment/tooling.
- Defining new and existing production procedures, finding ways to reduce costs and maximise efficiency while maintaining product quality.
- Train staff in new and existing processes.
- Collaborate with design engineers and management in developing new manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Machine/process introduction including: Supplier selection, Ergonomics, PFMEA, Concept Design, Cycle time achievement and reduction, Factory layout, Technical files and operating instructions, Support for production and Maintenance teams.
- Resolving Quality Issues highlighted by shop floor and seeking corrective actions via Purchasing from suppliers as required.
- Liaise with other departments as required if design or BOM changes are required.
- Generating Installation documents for New Products and SOP’s for existing products ideally with ability to work with 3D models to generate literature.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of HNC/HND Standard or equivalent.
- Min 5 years’ experience in similar industry or some automotive experience preferred.
- Technical background, with hands-on experience in designing and setting up production lines for new processes.
- Software knowledge (MS Office, 2D and 3D CAD, Ideally SolidEdge).
The Package:
- £35,000 – £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
- Paid overtime.
- Working Hours are 9am – 5pm Mon-Fri – can be flexible on this.
- Company Pension.
- 25 days holiday.
- 6 month Probationary Period.
