Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a Tier 1 automotive supplier with their search for a Die Maintenance Technician to join the team on a 1 year FTC. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, and optimising injection moulding tooling to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and product quality.
Key Duties:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform reactive and planned maintenance on press and injection moulding tooling in a fast-paced production environment.
- Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose tooling failures and implement long-term corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet operational targets and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Welding & Fabrication: Carry out repairs involving MIG, TIG, and ARC welding as required.
- Workload Management: Prioritise and manage tasks efficiently, adapting to shifting production demands.
- Technical Leadership & Development: Share knowledge within the team, mentor apprentices, and contribute to skill development initiatives.
- Independent working: Operate autonomously during solo shifts, managing maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and making critical decisions to maintain tooling performance without direct supervision.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in tooling maintenance, ideally within an injection moulding environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term solutions.
- Experience working with hot runner/manifold systems.
- Expertise in tool finishing and bedding.
The Package:
- 1 year FTC, however potential to be taken on permanent.
- £47,000 - £53,000 per annum including shift allowance, dependant on experience.
- 3 shift pattern on rotation.
