Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with OsecoElfab, a global manufacturer of customised rupture discs and explosion vents with their search for a Production Supervisor.
Overall Purpose: The Production Supervisor is required to work with the operations manager to oversee the day-to-day manufacturing of our products and plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing the activities of production activities to ensure the secure and efficient production of high-quality products within established timeframes and cost parameters. As well as drive operational excellence and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.
Key Duties:
- Working with the Operations Manager to ensure operational requirements are met and efficient production levels are achieved.
- Review daily production and operating data and implement appropriate response plans to ensure all customer requirements are met.
- Resolve operational and manufacturing problems promptly to optimize efficiency and minimize costs and delays.
- Promote quality standards, monitoring quality records and data, identifying and addressing areas of concern as appropriate.
- Maintain optimal manpower levels to align with strategic goals such as lead-time, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies.
- Identify training requirements and coordinate the required training and maintain training matrix for all production employees.
- Promote employee engagement and ensure the health & wellbeing of employees is at the heart of what we do.
- Ensure the safety of manufacturing employees and oversee their participation in safety training.
- Collaborate in Lean initiatives, actively participating in audits for 5S, TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, standardized work, waste walks, and Kaizen events.
- Work with other business functions to ensure cross functional collaboration is achieved.
- Process accurate time and attendance information to support month end activity.
- Provide effective coaching, counselling, and discipline as necessary, with the assistance of the human resources department or manager.
- Complete employee one on one meetings, mid-year and annual reviews.
- Utilize technical skills to assess technical problems and engineer independent solutions.
- Support defined Kaizen Projects to drive operational excellence.
- Gather, analyse, and report on productivity, overtime, and other personnel issues.
- Develop team through individual training plans for their growth and cross training.
- Exhibit effective verbal communication skills demonstrating OE Values and Behaviours.
- Support and enforce company policies within the work area.
- Support strategic planning activities to support business growth and continuous improvement initiatives cross functionally.
- Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies, procedures and good practices and educate where appropriate.
- Involvement in fortnightly Health and Safety inspection.
- Responsible for their own health and safety and those reporting to them.
- Continuous improvement in health and safety as well as 5s improvements.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing is required.
- Demonstrates a strong technical aptitude and resourcefulness.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Conducts departmental meetings as required and develops written reports as needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and address issues in meetings and other settings.
- Can develop policies, procedures, and work instructions with some assistance from managers and others.
- Capable of motivating personnel effectively.
- Demonstrates efficient multitasking and priority management skills.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office products.
- Collaborative approach in problem-solving and implementing improvements across departments.
- Working knowledge of ERP Systems.
- Good IT skills, experience in using Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
