Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Maintenance Supervisor, for a client located in Newton Aycliffe. A requirement to strengthen the site Engineering Team based at Newton Aycliffe has been identified in order to further improve asset reliability, efficiency and regulatory compliance. This new role will involve the job holder working closely alongside the Section Leader in order to develop maintenance best practice.
The job holder will provide hands on day-to-day leadership, direction and supervision to the site maintenance team. They will ensure that business needs are met through the planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance activities whilst also adhering to and promoting best practice HSE requirements.
Maintenance Supervisor Main Duties & Responsibilities:- Promoting a positive HSE culture at both departmental and site level.
- Ensure risks are properly assessed and safe systems of work are adhered to.
- Lead, motivate, direct and support a team of multi-skilled maintenance technicians in order to meet operational needs.
- Plan, prioritise and delegate daily preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate and oversee planned shutdown works.
- Administer the site CMMS.
- Identification and control of both critical and non-critical spares inventory.
- The jobholder will have served a recognized engineering apprenticeship (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Possess excellent problem solving, organisational and communication skills.
- Demonstrating proven experience within the process industry maintenance leadership role.
- A strong understanding of HSE legislation particularly around COMAH regulations, PTW and LOTO is essential, ideally supported by a recognized H&S qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Competent in the use of both CMMS and IT systems used across the business.
- Ability to follow structured thought processes and methodologies.
- Maintaining an attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within and outside of the organisation.

- Holiday entitlement: 25 days annual holiday, plus 8 days statutory holiday. An extra day's holiday will be given after 20 years of continuation service.
