Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Functional Skills Tutor, working for a client on a National Basis. Candidates must hold a Full UK License and own transport, some delivery as well as classroom face to face delivery will be a part of the role. Functional Skills Tutor Main Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibility for safeguarding candidates whilst on programme Establish and maintain a safe environment for all staff and candidates Teaching English and mathematics Functional Skills qualifications up to Level 2, including conducting initial assessments, diagnostic assessments and administering exams Be able to interpret the knowledge requirements in ways that are appropriate to candidates at all levels To support learners in achieving their goals Adapting/developing appropriate learning materials Recording and providing feedback to learners continually on their programme Complete attendance records and provide information for tracking student progress in their place of learning To share best practice and recourses in training, learning and assessment Participate in standardisation meetings To prepare, maintain and monitor the training/workplace environment to meet Health and Safety standards To be compliant with all required administration duties To be flexible in supporting the required needs of the business Functional Skills Tutor Applicants: Skills/Behaviours Show an appreciation of safeguarding issues and an ability to contribute towards a protective environment Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both at a written and spoken level IT literate Ability to work across all levels and engage with people accordingly Able to demonstrate attention to detail and high-quality work Good personal organisation, time management and administrative skills Self-motivated and effective team player Knowledge/Experience Hold a full teaching qualification An understanding of Safeguarding and Prevent Working towards or hold the A1/TAQA/D32/33 Assessor qualification Experience of delivering Functional Skills (English and Mathematics) up to level 2 Have experience of training in an educational or workplace environment Have relevant industrial experience (warehouse/manufacturing/cleaning) To be flexible and demonstrate adaptability to meet the challenges and demands of the roles Have an understanding of compliance paperwork and reviews Demonstrate behaviour consistent with educational values Be committed to continuous professional development The successful candidate would be subject to an enhanced DBS check. This role is classroom-based Monday to Friday 9am-5pm for learners, however, will be expected to work outside of these hours for marking travel etc. Working away from home is an essential part of the role and could be three out of four weeks staying in a hotel from Sunday to Friday, all depends on the training location. Mileage is 45p per mile, hotels are pre-booked, an evening meal allowance up to £16 and mobile phone bill paid up to £50 a month.
