Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our market leading manufacturing client with their search for a Production Engineer.

Job Purpose:

A key role within the business managing the whole production process, making sure everything runs smoothly and effectively. Making key improvements to manufacturing processes throughout the business. Full responsibility for a number of manufacturing processes within the business including: CNC Routing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Welding, Powder Coating and Electrical Assembly.

Key Duties:

  • Ownership/Continuous improvement of existing machines/processes.
  • Selection of new assembly processes/techniques.
  • Specification/Development of new equipment/tooling.
  • Defining new and existing production procedures, finding ways to reduce costs and maximise efficiency while maintaining product quality.
  • Train staff in new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and management in developing new manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Machine/process introduction including: Supplier selection, Ergonomics, PFMEA, Concept Design, Cycle time achievement and reduction, Factory layout, Technical files and operating instructions, Support for production and Maintenance teams.
  • Resolving Quality Issues highlighted by shop floor and seeking corrective actions via Purchasing from suppliers as required.
  • Liaise with other departments as required if design or BOM changes are required.
  • Generating Installation documents for New Products and SOP's for existing products ideally with ability to work with 3D models to generate literature.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of HNC/HND Standard or equivalent.
  • Min 5 years' experience in similar industry or some automotive experience preferred.
  • Technical background, with hands-on experience in designing and setting up production lines for new processes.
  • Software knowledge (MS Office, 2D and 3D CAD, Ideally SolidEdge).

The Package:

  • ~£35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • ~ Paid overtime.
  • ~ Working Hours are 9am - 5pm Mon-Fri - can be flexible on this.
  • ~ Company Pension.
  • ~25 days holiday.
  • ~6 month Probationary Period.
