Since 2016, The Baltic Exchange is part of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) Family. The Baltic Exchange houses SGX’s subsidiary finance function on behalf of specific businesses in the SGX Group and we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join our finance team. The Subsidiary Finance team is a key part of the overall SGX Finance function. We are seeking a full-time Finance Manager to work out of the London office. The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the full set of accounts, AR & AP, for the four Scientific Beta legal entities (France, UK, US & Singapore) and consolidation. To work closely with other functional teams to ensure data quality and consistency. The role is part of SGX’s Subsidiary Finance team, which is run out of Baltic Exchange Limited, with a direct relationship with Scientific Beta but will have some cross over with other business units. The successful candidate will take on the following responsibilities: Accounts Receivable Functions Work closely with Scientific Beta Client Services department to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers Coordinate with internal groups (Sales, Client Services, Legal) to resolve issues and ensuring billing accuracy Review sales contracts to ensure accurate billing Research account disputes and billing discrepancies Lead monthly calls to review revenue performance and forecasts with Client Services and CFO Subsidiary Finance Prepare monthly revenue reports and review process, including monthly revenue accruals for BD1 and analyzing all variances. e.g. support revenue recognition process and provide doubtful debt provisioning for month-end close process Prepare and monitor A/R ageing report and follow up with customers on payments Liaison with the business on relevant credit control of aged A/R Liaison and interaction with other Subsidiary Finance units on best practice and assistance as required Accounts Payable Functions Ensure that the payment approval of invoices are sought in accordance with the authorization matrix Ensure accurate coding of expenses and recording of such expenses Check the reimbursement of staff claims and record corporate credit card expenses to the appropriate GL (pending automated solution) Prepare intercompany invoices as per services agreements in place Process payments for invoices, staff claims and payroll on a timely basis Monitor bank balances and manage payment funding Assist in the preparation of quarterly VAT/GST filing in the UK and Singapore Manage monthly accruals where needed General Work with remaining external bookkeepers until activity transitioned in-house to Finance Manager Manage month end close process including consolidation and reporting to SGX by BD2. E.g. performing bank and intercompany reconciliation, preparation of schedules and dashboards Manage external auditors and all related audit work and schedules Liaison with external bookkeepers in 2 territories until these have been run off Running the monthly 12 month rolling forecast, annual budget processes and involved in 3 year planning Work closely with office managers in the respective countries where Scientific Beta operates Analyze business drivers’ variances on monthly basis Perform Financial Statement Account Ownership on monthly basis Update and align policies and procedures with the Group where required (minimum annual review) Propose and monitor products and strategies to ensure maximisation of cash returns and to reduce exposure to risks e.g. fixed deposit placements and FX hedging Manage administration accesses on banking portals including application for banking products and update mandates when necessary Manage non-employee related insurances and renewals in conjunction with SGX Finance Provide assistance to Tax team for any tax provisions and payments on a quarterly basis Other ad-hoc duties as assigned Applications are welcome from candidates who meet the following essential requirements: The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualified accounting and/or auditing experience Knowledge of revenue recognition accounting principles and billing procedures Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required Close attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment Good organizational and time management skills Skilled in Microsoft Excel Exceptional analytical skills Microsoft Business Centre experience preferred. SAP, Oracle knowledge would be useful Previous experience of OCR an advantage Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required Ability to speak and write in French (advantageous)
