Drapers Multi-Academy Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for an IT Apprentice to kick start their career in technology while making a real impact every day. The successful apprentice will dive into the world of IT, learning on the job and becoming a key part of the team that keeps the Trust's schools running smoothly. In this role, the apprentice will support computers, networks, tablets, classroom technologies and a wide range of digital tools used daily by staff and students. You will be hands-on from day one, solving real issues, contributing to interesting projects and developing valuable technical skills. You will also receive support and guidance from experienced IT professionals who are committed to helping you grow into a confident and skilled member of the team.

The role includes 22/25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, providing a great work-life balance, along with strong development and progression opportunities in a growing organisation. This apprenticeship offers an excellent launchpad for a long and successful career in IT. Drapers Multi-Academy Trust is seeking applicants who are passionate about technology, eager to learn and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, varied environment where no two days are the same. In this role, you'll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer systems and peripherals.
  • Manage and respond to service desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of user issues.
  • Help with regular maintenance tasks, including software updates, backups, and system monitoring.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Support SLAs and escalations by adhering to response times, resolving issues promptly and escalating unresolved problems to the appropriate level.
  • Document tasks, escalations and provide an audit trail of IT issues and efficiently log, track and resolve issues.
  • Provide support for end-users, including password resets, software installations, and user account management.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • A basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection in schools.
  • Grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics & Grade 5 in GCSE English.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,000 per annum.
  • 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we'll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. You'll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you'll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT. You'll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
